VEJ Document Explorer

Document-by-document critical analysis of the German-published source edition Die Verfolgung und Ermordung der europäischen Juden durch das nationalsozialistische Deutschland 1933–1945 (VEJ). Search by document number, place, event, or keyword — then filter by volume, dates, and scores.

The published edition itself can be viewed at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) ↗.

Currently loaded: Volumes 8–15 of 16 — the peak years of deportation and claimed mass killing (mid-1941 to 1945). Earlier and later volumes are not yet included.

About this tool: A work in progress, expect some errors. Coverage and depth vary from entry to entry, and not every analysis is strictly "revisionist" — the consistent aim is an especially critical or skeptical reading of each document, contrary to the popular "Holocaust echo-chamber" treatment these sources typically receive. Each document carries two scores:

Impact How strongly the document, taken at face value, supports the orthodox extermination narrative (0–10). A high-Impact / low-Integrity entry marks a narrative pillar resting on a weak source.
Integrity How much confidence the source itself merits (0–10) — provenance, chain of custody, internal consistency, and believability of the text as evidence.

Searches every field of every document. Quoted phrases like "gas van" are supported.
